It’s pretty amazing to find a designer room space which has the exact color pink of the pink chosen for this piece. I know that today’s designs vary from one person to the next. I would choose this piece, “Polka Pinka” and then add in some additional accents pulling colors from the painting. Maybe additional pillows in pink & brown.
If you read my last post. (You can read that HERE) you will read the story of my experience with a pasta ladle, with a center hole. Holding with my left hand the ladle and painting with my right hand. I googled the best colors for interior design in 2021 and started mixing up the colors as shown in this piece. All while being as steady and as calm as a cucumber to execute polka dots.
I named this piece, “Polka Pinka” because if paintings had a sound it sounded like some sort of polka dance, with polka dots. All the darker colors inviting one light color, pink. Sounds kind of corny now that I actually talk about it but it’s true. Who’s invited to the dance party? Pink is making a come back. As I am typing this out I am wearing pink.
When I was in highschool I wore A LOT of pink. When I would come to the breakfast table before school my dad would say, “Well you are in the pink” and guess what dad. Today I am in the pink. Thank you for reading and enjoying my process with each piece I design and paint. Here is the artful gallery of, “Polka Pinka”. Enjoy.
